Who it suits
One or two bays suit a home office or a team of up to about five people. With two drives in RAID 1, one drive can fail without losing data.

Questions about the DS225+
How much usable storage does the DS225+ give?
It depends on the drives and the RAID level. With 2 × 8 TB drives in RAID 1 you get about 8 TB before formatting. The capacity table on this page shows other combinations.
Can the memory in the DS225+ be upgraded?
Yes. It ships with 2 GB DDR4 non-ECC and Synology lists a maximum of 6 GB.
Does the DS225+ have 10GbE?
No. Its network ports are 1 x 1GbE RJ-45, 1 x 2.5GbE RJ-45.
What warranty does the DS225+ have?
Synology lists a hardware warranty of 3 years, extendable to 5 years for this model.
