Synology DS725+
The Synology DS725+ is a 2-bay desktop NAS built around the AMD Ryzen R1600 processor. Installed memory is 4 GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM, expandable to 32 GB. Networking is 1 x 1GbE RJ-45, 1 x 2.5GbE RJ-45. It also has 2 x M.2 2280 NVMe SSD for SSD cache or fast storage. With expansion units it grows to 7 drive bays.

Who it suits
One or two bays suit a home office or a team of up to about five people. With two drives in RAID 1, one drive can fail without losing data.

How much usable storage does the DS725+ give?
It depends on the drives and the RAID level. With 2 × 8 TB drives in RAID 1 you get about 8 TB before formatting. The capacity table on this page shows other combinations.
Can the DS725+ be expanded?
Yes. With Synology expansion units it supports up to 7 drive bays in total.
Can the memory in the DS725+ be upgraded?
Yes. It ships with 4 GB DDR4 ECC SODIMM and Synology lists a maximum of 32 GB.
Does the DS725+ have 10GbE?
No. Its network ports are 1 x 1GbE RJ-45, 1 x 2.5GbE RJ-45.
